Charles Lee Cox Jr.

Department of History, Texas Christian University

Hello, my name is Charles Lee Cox Jr. and I am a Ph.D. History Candidate at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. I specifically focus on Spanish Colonial Louisiana. My dissertation looks at the 1768 French Creole revolt that overthrew the first Spanish government in Louisiana and how it situates in the broader historiography of the Age of Revolutions while also examining impacts of settler colonialism and settler sovereignty in the Gulf South. It is entitled "A Rebellious Bayou: Patrimonial Sovereignty and the 1768 French Creole Revolt in Spanish Louisiana". I am also an Adjunt Professor of History at the University of West Florida. Thank you for visiting my website!
